[Self-destructing organism]

Wow

Wow. A worker is told by his evil leader that he can only be with his love if he becomes a soldier. He becomes a warrior and fights for his evil oppressor, but is killed in battle. His love can't stand being without him, and kills herself with poison. And what happens next is amazingly poetic. This is a truly dark piece – sinister and gloomy, and yet it is a high form of art, and surprisingly is laced with moral values.

Blood has been overused to the extreme on Newgrounds – and yet here it seems refreshingly new. Here it has meaning. Here the action is intense, even when nothing intense or action-like is taking place on screen.

This is a masterpiece.

I do not believe that anything I say in a review, no matter how heartfelt and profound I made it, could possibly do this film justice.

This is, by all meaning of the word, “art”, and it is art of the highest level. I cannot imagine giving this movie anything other than a perfect score.

What can I say here?

This is, without a doubt, the best movie I have ever seen on Newgrounds. This is my 40th review, and the first one I have ever given a "10" overall score. And you deserve it. It's nice to FINALLY see a movie where the violence isn't senseless, and the movie itself is a work of art rather than a work of flashy fast-action graphics. Wonderful, wonderful movie.

A show of human psychology

At first, this movie appears to be just another stick movie. Well animated? Yes. Decent fighting and violence? Yeah. Still a stick movie? Yes, but there is something more hidden underneath it’s surface. Honestly, I don’t very much care for stick movies, however this one, like every other one you have made, has struck a chord with me. The plot goes much deeper than just “a panning screen” - it’s a show of human psychology. Each stick man has his own personality – and they are all working together to survive. Each one seems to have a genuine care for every other stick – but as soon as it comes down to “either you go or I go”, that care is gone and their true human nature comes out. And the fighting isn’t any of that impossible jumps and kung-foo crap that has gotten so old – no, it’s realistic street fighting. Brilliant movie, absolutely brilliant.

Good talent, but...

You seem to have an incredible talent here for animating. It's too bad you use it to animate sticks - but I am not going to review you on that point.

I am not entirly sure why heros on Newgrounds always have to kill EVERYONE even when they don't seem to be a threat. Blood, and stick blood at that, has been overused to the extreem on Newgrounds, and so to have a story that exists simply to show us MORE stick blood... well I just can't say I enjoyed this movie. If your movie is going to be soley about killing people, then I need the action to impress me. If it's not going to impress me, then I need a good story. Why is he going to the arms facility in Mongolia? Why does he have the need to violently kill everything he sees, and shoot them again after they have died? Why has he developed this "hostile" complex?

Well made movie.

Sure, the graphics weren't incredible, but they were fun to look at and surprisingly stylized. Sure, the sounds weren't amazing, but they were functional and funny to hear. And sure, it didn't have an amazing plot, but it was surreal and interesting.

It is amazing to see what you could fit into 99K, and I can't wait to see what animations you can make with a higher file size limit.

Overall, a fun movie to watch, and something that takes up almost no space. Newgrounds flash artists could learn a lot about space saving from you.
